This is a blog by Randy Buchman – Lead Pastor of Tri-State Fellowship of Hagerstown, MD. For a long time in the past, I had a blog on the church web page, but it was cumbersome to get to and nearly impossible to utilize a comment section. So this is a newer generation effort at writing about things from the silly and mundane, to the great and timeless truths of Scripture and life.
I have been the pastor at this church of 400-500 in weekly attendance since June of 1994. I was previously the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Phillipsburg, NJ from 1983-1994. Prior to that I was the Minister of Music at Grace Bible Church of Dallas, Texas – during my graduate studies years at Dallas Theological Seminary.
I am a graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University (now called Cairn University) in 1978 with a B.S. in Bible and a B.Mus. degree. In 1982 I graduated from Dallas Theological with a Th.M. in New Testament Literature and Exegesis. I also earned a Doctor of Ministries degree from Dallas in 1994.
Along with pastoring the church, I was also the Head Coach of the Williamsport High School Cross Country teams for 13 years. Beyond that, I occasionally serve with the Antietam Battlefield Guides, and you may note I also have a Civil War blog entitled “Enfilading Lines.”
For a number of years I also was the editor/lead writer for a blog about the Baltimore Orioles. Though I have many interests in life and dabble in varied fields of pursuit, baseball is the only thing I think I really understand!
